The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement within the fandom. From the gradual reveal of newcomers before the game's launch, to players forming firm views on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.

With many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Similar to a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several past Pokédex entries mention their fondness for tasty sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.

Gemini – Mega Medicham

Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an constant stream of gossip to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s official description also mentions its capacity to predict an opponent's next moves, which seems very like a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for often getting wrapped up in their emotions. Besides the reality that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being too fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Players were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a show, albeit for aliens.

Virgo – Mega Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a plan.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who uses the feelers on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, to be frank, it would probably just make them stress even more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through pure hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpion adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “silly little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to foresee calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
