Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
