President Trump Calls Relatives of Shot Military Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support law enforcement in the capital.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that instructors wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, informed the press. “She was caring, caring and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Policy Adjustments

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the government to pause asylum processing and halt providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” he told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
