Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
