An individual earned a substantial sum by predicting the removal of the Venezuelan leader immediately preceding it was officially announced, leading to inquiries about whether someone profited from confidential information of the US operation.

But the market's assessment had climbed to over 10% by late Friday night and spiked dramatically in the early hours of Saturday, pointing to a rapid movement in market sentiment immediately prior to the official statement was made.

"This specific wager has all the signs of a transaction based on confidential knowledge," stated a financial reform advocate.

Several of other traders also made large payouts from similar wagers.
